One of the topics that we have discussed recently is 'Survivor' and the how the selection strategy affects the group. You mentioned that you enjoyed the 'voting off' type of management and how it makes a group better by keeping the stronger players, but I disagree. Although it may create an interesting television show, that style of management cannot successfully work in the business world. A business example we talked about was General Motors. Their strategy is much like 'Survivor' in th...

Time is irreplaceable. Time can be your worst enemy or time can be your best friend. You can never change the past, instead you have to look forward to the future. Time management can be detrimental in creating a successful life and time management is a problem I have faced my whole life. In the back of my head I remind myself that some of the activities I choose to do are not important, but that feeling gets subsided in order to make sure I have a good time. Then I am faced with the con...

A mission statement articulates a groups essential nature, its values and its work. The hard part of a mission statement is discovering what those three discriptions actually mean. Today we talked about each groups' mission statement and what we will do to strive to achieve our purpose. I dont think organization...

Today we completely embarressed 13 of our peers by making them look like zoo animals on stage. I thoroughly enjoyed today because it was interesting to see a group of people scurry around to complete a task. It made me think about all the past experience I have had with this type of situation and how I could have made it different given the experience of watching it from outside the group. When put in this situation nobody wants to be the jerk that takes control and makes all the decisions...

The first week of this class was very interesting. I have never experienced a teaching style such as this. When I thought I had figured out what was going on, you surprised me again. On this day we came in to class discovering that you were not going to be teaching. When we figured out that we were watching a movie I was pretty happy, what more could you ask for in a class then to watch one of your favorite movies? I think the reason you decided to show a movie was to give us a live exam...
